NPC Katsina Holds Grand Reception, Honours Retired Staff for Years of Service

The National Population Commission (NPC) in Katsina State has organised a grand reception and award ceremony in honour of retired staff who served the Commission with distinction and unwavering commitment.

The event, held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Katsina State Institute of Technology and Management (KSITM), brought together senior officials, serving staff, families of honourees and invited guests.

The ceremony was described as historic, aimed at recognising the foundational role played by the retirees in strengthening population data management, census operations, demographic research and administrative processes in the state.

In his remarks, the Director of Administration, Malam Usman Sa’idu, said the Commission considers it a duty to appreciate officers who dedicated their careers to public service. He said such recognition encourages serving staff to remain committed to fairness, diligence and professionalism.

He noted that many of the honourees played outstanding roles in national census exercises, demographic studies, public enlightenment campaigns and reforms that enhanced the Commission’s efficiency in Katsina.

“This event is not just about honouring individuals but about acknowledging the pillars on which this institution stands,” he said. “Their contributions remain a reference point for all serving officers.”


Prominent among those honoured were Alhaji Adamu Tafida, Alhaji Ishaq Lawal, Malam Sale Lawal, Alhaji Sa’idu Usman Waziri, Alhaji Bala Idris Mai Ruwa, Hajiya Rabi Sallau Bala Riba, Alhaji Sani Muhammad Kura, Hajiya Fatima Bashir Kaita, Alhaji Sani Haruna, and Malam Lawal Ahmad Abubakar Mai’adua.

Some of the awardees expressed appreciation for the recognition, describing it as a proud moment after years of service. They urged serving personnel to uphold the values of honesty, competence and dedication.

The ceremony featured presentations on the history and achievements of NPC Katsina as shaped by the retirees. It concluded with the presentation of certificates, commemorative plaques, group photographs and a luncheon.
